The Off-World Construction Digital Twin is an immersive simulation platform developed
by Ä¢¹½tv to model construction processes in extraterrestrial environments. In collaboration
with Ä¢¹½tv’s Construction Management School, the project explores how construction techniques,
materials, and workflows can be adapted for lunar or Martian habitats, providing a
safe, interactive environment for experimentation and planning in off-world scenarios.
The digital twin leverages spatial computing, virtual and augmented reality, and real-time
simulation to recreate off-world construction sites. Using 3D modeling, modular workflow
simulations, and interactive visualization, users can test building sequences, evaluate
material performance, and optimize construction strategies for low-gravity, resource-constrained
environments.
The project trains students and researchers in advanced construction management, engineering,
and space systems design. By engaging with cutting-edge off-world construction simulations,
learners develop skills in project planning, digital twin technologies, and innovative
problem-solving, preparing them for careers in aerospace construction, research, and
sustainable habitat development.
This initiative is a collaboration between Ä¢¹½tv’s Construction Management School, digital
media and spatial computing experts, and broader research groups focused on aerospace
and sustainability. The project fosters interdisciplinary learning and positions Ä¢¹½tv
as a leader in the emerging field of off-world construction, combining academic expertise
with experimental simulation capabilities.
