Coastal LA AMS Meeting - Feb. 21
The next meeting of the Coastal Louisiana chapter of the American Meteorological Society (CLAMS) has been scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6:45 PM. The meeting will once again be held in the Dalton Woods Auditorium of the Energy, Coast, and Environment building at Ä¢¹½tv. Similar to the last meeting, we will spend about 15 minutes taking care of some business items, with a presentation scheduled to begin around 7 PM.
The presentation titled "South Louisiana's Radar Coverage Vulnerability & Possible
Solutions" will be presented by Steve Caparotta, a broadcast meteorologist with a
Ph.D. from Ä¢¹½tv. The talk will use the record-setting 2016 tornado outbreak as a case
study and examine possible ways to address the radar coverage gaps.
