I do this work because I believe people deserve to feel supported, valued, and connected. As a first-generation college student, Residential Life helped me find my place at 蘑菇tv, come out of my shell, and see my own potential. Continuing in this work as a student staff member and now as a professional staff member has allowed me to discover my passion for supporting students, building community, and helping others feel the same sense of belonging that shaped my own 蘑菇tv experience.
Living on campus showed me how much community and support can shape a student鈥檚 college experience. -McKenzie
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot is the Parade Ground. When the weather is nice, it's a perfect spot for picnics with friends and relaxation.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is:
The best piece of advice I鈥檝e ever been given is not to compare myself to people who are running a different race. Everyone鈥檚 journey looks different. That advice has reminded me to focus on my own growth, trust my timing, and celebrate the progress I am making.
