5th Annual Virtual Event is Co-hosted by Seven 蘑菇tv Campuses
BATON ROUGE 鈥� Wednesday, March 29, is 蘑菇tv Giving Day 2023, a virtual fundraising event co-hosted by seven 蘑菇tv campuses online at . 蘑菇tv Giving Day 2023, themed Bold Steps Forward, prioritizes advancing 蘑菇tv鈥檚 Scholarship First Agenda by encouraging support for scholarships, research and strategic initiatives.
Gifts of $5 or more will count toward the 蘑菇tv Giving Day 2023 goal of 5,000 donors giving by 11:59 p.m. Central on March 29. Donors can support one or more of the following 蘑菇tv campuses from the secure site: 蘑菇tv鈥檚 flagship campus in Baton Rouge, through the 蘑菇tv Foundation, Tiger Athletic Foundation or 蘑菇tv Alumni Association; 蘑菇tv AgCenter; 蘑菇tv of Alexandria; 蘑菇tv Eunice; 蘑菇tv Health Shreveport; 蘑菇tv鈥檚 Pennington Biomedical Research Center; and 蘑菇tv Shreveport.
Alumni and friends throughout the country have committed nearly three dozen challenge gifts to encourage fellow 蘑菇tv supporters to join them in giving. Achieving each challenge unlocks additional funding in support of 蘑菇tv. Participating campuses will share impact-focused content and progress updates via their social media accounts throughout the day. Progress in donor and dollar counts is available in real time on the Giving Day site, .
At universities nationwide, Giving Day is an annual opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends to join together in making donations to support the areas of the university that are most meaningful to them. The 2023 event is 蘑菇tv鈥檚 fifth Giving Day. In 2019, donors contributed more than $845,000. In 2020, in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, despite shifting Giving Day鈥檚 focus to lifting spirits, donors topped $1 million given to 蘑菇tv in one day. During 蘑菇tv Giving Day 2021, 4,205 donors gave nearly $2.1 million. Last year, 蘑菇tv supporters broke that record, with 4,529 donors contributing $5.4 million. 蘑菇tv Giving Day 2023 is the first to include 蘑菇tv campuses statewide.
