About the Ä¢¹½tv Ring
About the Traditional Ä¢¹½tv Ring Design
Each Ä¢¹½tv ring represents the uniqueness of Ä¢¹½tv and serves as a lasting symbol of Ä¢¹½tv’s proud traditions and values. Oak leaves and magnolia blossoms are carved on both sides. One side features the degree received, gates of Ä¢¹½tv, and Seal of the University over the last two words of the Alma Mater, “Forever Ä¢¹½tv.â€ The other side shows the year of graduation, Memorial Tower, and eye of Mike the Tiger. Ä¢¹½tv is encrusted on top of an amethyst stone. The words “̹½tvâ€ and the founding date of 1860 encircle the stone.

Prior to commencement, students wear the ring with "Ä¢¹½tv" facing them as a reminder of the goal within reach. Upon granting of degrees at commencement, graduates turn the ring so that "Ä¢¹½tv" faces outward. This symbolizes a graduate's readiness to represent Ä¢¹½tv in their post-grad success.
